Daifuku

Daifuku or gooey balls of heaven.

I just loved these sticky, gooey, gluey sweet desserts that the lovely Mariko-san brought me as a gift.

I don’t really know how to describe them as they don’t really resemble anything I’ve had before. But the texture and taste somewhat reminds me of a rather loose, plain, raw unbaked wheat dough without the cardamom or cinnamon, filled with a piece of orange or a strawberry and rolled in icing sugar or potato starch to keep them from being too sticky. And they’re almost transparent but still not, a bit link a Turkish Delight but not nearly as sweet.

Absolutely lovely.

Helt ljuvliga.
